This particular accessories is compatible for 1/16 Heng Long German Jagdpanther (Serial code: 3869) and the German Panther G (Serial code: 3879).
There are two types of drive shaft available for this gear box, 2.0 cm (Short Shaft) and 3.2 cm (Long Shaft ) Only the 3.2 cm version is compatible with the Jagdpanther & the Panther G -
PRO: with the 3:1 gear ratio, it significantly drives down the motor speed, providing better torque for rough terrian.
A lot of heng Long tank fans will know that, sometimes the metal gear box will run slippery. That's because the gear attaching to the motor lose contact with the rest. But why is that ? If you ever run the tank on uneven surface, the extra weight from metal tracks, pulling by gravity will slightly distort the straightness of the chassis.
Therefore, the gear attaching to the motor will offset with the rest of the gears. - CON: It's not a direct bolt on, you will need to first install a metal plate to the chassis ( help maintaining the rigidity ), then install the gear box on the metal plate. ( don't worry, the package includes all screws & a metal plate )
